When Robert H. Quinn founded Quinn and Morris, he brought to his firm a distinguished record of public service and professional accomplishment, as well as boundless enthusiasm for the practice of law.

Following his graduation in 1955 from Harvard Law School where he was the recipient of the Lt. Governor William Stoughton Scholarship, Mr. Quinn served as a law clerk to the Supreme Judicial Court of Massachusetts. In 1957, he entered the private practice of law in Boston, concentration on trial practice, probate law, and administrative law. That same year, Mr. Quinn was elected to the Massachusetts House of Representatives beginning his career in public service.

In 1967, Mr. Quinn was elected Speaker of the House of Representatives after having served as Majority Whip and Majority Leader. Mr. Quinn was elected Attorney General of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in 1969, a position he held until 1975. As Attorney General, Mr. Quinn led the East Coast Attorneys General in their challenge to the federal government's title to offshore oil, set up the state's first Environmental Protection Division, spearheaded drug abuse law changes and the alcohol rehabilitation act, and led the establishment of the New England Organized Crime Intelligence System. In 1974, Mr. Quinn was elected President of the National Association of Attorneys General.

In 1975, Mr. Quinn reentered the private practice of law and in 1979, he founded Quinn and Morris.

Currently, Mr. Quinn divides his practice between government relations and a general law practice. In his government relations practice, Mr. Quinn represents international, national and local corporations including automobile companies, financial institutions, public utilities and communication companies. Mr. Quinn assists these clients in a wide range of legislative and regulatory matters.

In Mr. Quinn's general law practice, the emphasis is on administrative law and probate law. In addition, Mr. Quinn undertakes a wide variety of trial work, from civil litigation to appellate argument. Mr. Quinn represents corporate and individual clients in the federal courts and in all courts of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and acts as legal counsel before administrative hearings, federal and state regulatory agencies and local commissions and boards.
